Also Jessica, you CAN get floor stickers and they last for a long time, but they aren't made to put down and take up and use and reuse, the floors are just WAY to dirty and the adhesive wouldn't last for more than one or at the most, two applications if that many! I agree with Bro. Donald.

Hey Jessica, No decals. But we have met in schools for years. We have used corrugated plastic signs suspended from the drop ceiling grid in the hallways. We hang the signs through grommets on these plant hangers. With the schools permission, you could leave these hooks up. The signs are up out of the way and easy to set each week. I'm not sure if anyone can help me or not, but we are looking to purchase removable floor decals or stickers for our children's ministry. We meet in an intermediate school so anything we put down will have to be removed before we leave. These will be used to direct families to our Children's Area. If anyone knows of a company that makes decals or sells decals (we are looking for either handprint or footprints) I would really appreciate the help. :) Thank you!!!

Along with the stage area you also need to think about where you will control sound and lighting and have conduit in the walls to route cables for video, lighting, sound, etc. Another thing to think of is the sound systems for the space ... wall mount speakers (not stands!), wireless microphones. And the video system ... ceiling mount projector or rear screen projector.

We're doing a building project too, and are getting an indoor playground (check out Worlds of WOW for some ideas on playgrounds and artwork).

Thanks, Dennis, for those tidbits. I'd not thought of all those aspects since we're currently not using a stage area (where I'd have come across such problems).

One thing that I can think of right now is to make sure for your Ministry Center, the actual Children's Church area, make sure that you plenty of outlets on stage and in the back where the sound booth will be and on the side walls. On stage, I would have about 4-6 spread out evenly across the stage on the back wall for easy access to prevent having extension cords running everywhere that can and probably will cause stumbling. I would have them in the back wall on NOT in the floor. The floor outlets always seem to be in the way, the cords plugged into them stick straight up and cause a stumbling block for anyone not looking for such, especially full bodies that can't see well to start with. Also, they can be in the way when you place a set or prop, making them inaccessible, thus possibly causing a lack of plug-ins. I would also have at least two outlets in the ceiling area that can be used for special lighting, fog or bubble machines, etc, for future reference. If at all possible, make these outlets on the ceiling to where you can control them from the sound booth! I'll give it some more thought and see if I am missing anything!

We've just hired an architect to help us design an additional preschool/children's building to attach to the one we already have. Because of the urgent need for rooms and the economic downturn (and availability of supplies & workers at reduced rates since most folks aren't building right now), we're on the fast track for designing this space. Are there any "must haves" you'd suggest for the children's area? I'm thinking besides adequate classrooms with storage cabinets and sink in the room that I'd have to have a multipurpose large group room with stage & projector, a large resource room with work area in the middle, and a kitchen. What else?
