The NFL has one. The YMCA has one. The President has one. Public Schools have one. Shouldn't churches have one? What am I talking about? Fitnesss Program for kids. In a time when the medical profession is calling obesity among children an epidemic disease, many public sectors are implementing health and fitness programs for kids. How much better for the church to add one to their programming and meet this need in our community.

The BONUS: Public places are limited to nutrition and fitness teaching, but churches can teach kids about God's plan for taking care of their bodies.

Just finished teaching Fitness Camp at a church in Winchester, KY during Sunday morning kids' church. Kids loved it and teachers appreciated the break. Fitness Camp is flexible - use for regular weekly programming, alternative to VBS, summer camp, and more.

My son just came back from a month long visit to Europe. I asked him what the first thing he wanted to do was now that he was back stateside. He said he wanted to go to an all-you-can-eat buffet for $7. He went on to explain that food prices in Europe were very expensive and portions were very small - he hadn't been full all month. However, he also observed that he seldom saw any overweight people, especially compared to the US. He was very impressed by the lack of obesity rate and attributed this to the portion sizes to which people had adjusted. Makes one think...
