Other Things About Me:
I have a long history of working with kids.

I was actually going to be an actor for a while but that changed when Jesus reminded me about a different calling. But I do have a love for theatre, and acting, and directing, and would love the opportunity to do it all again if it fit into what God is using me for now.

I married the woman of my wildest dreams on June 11, 2010. God knew what He was doing! I am amazed at the gift of love that He has given to us!

We celebrated the birth of our first child in 2014.

I love what I am doing and I am thankful every day for the adventure I am on!

ASSUMPTIVE LENSES

Posted on April 14, 2009 at 10:52pm 0 Comments

Have you ever been in a situation with someone or a group of people and walked away with a bad taste in your mouth? Then, the next time you see that person or group of people, you associate the previous experience's result with this new and current scenario.

We all do. And that is a problem. It is for me anyway.

When we first meet people we generally sum them up in about 30 seconds. That's why "first impressions" are so important. Everything else gets viewed from that… Continue

"He's Alive!" - Sam, age 3

Posted on April 13, 2009 at 11:58am 0 Comments

Easter had been on my mind all week. Not just the idea of it. Not just the contemplative reflection, though that came. Rather, the preparation for the worship services on Easter had been on my mind all week. I wanted everything to be set and ready so we could come in and focus on one truth: Jesus is alive!

I had the opportunity to be in all three worship services at the NEast campus, and that was awesome! Our kids truly grasped what Easter was all about. For our older kids, it was… Continue

Re-post from Lanny Donoho: PENN SAYS...

Just in case you missed this - or haven't seen it - I highly recommend you check it out.

There is a lot that we could say about it - but the response is bigger than our reaction. What does this do to move us outside of the box we have created (and still are creating at times).

He's speaking truth, right? If we believe it, we believe it. When did we get off course into this idea… Continue

EXODUS - A QUESTION

Posted on March 25, 2009 at 12:39pm 0 Comments

I have always liked the book of EXODUS.

I can remember learning about Moses in my little sunday school room nearly 20 years ago. I went home and decided to read the entire book of Exodus (in the revered KJV...sigh...at least it was an Adventure Bible - thanks Zondervan!) which was no easy task for a third grader. I loved it though. I loved the idea of a powerful God delivering His people and showing Himself to be the true God.

I loved that the Hebrews, despite seeing all… Continue

Hi, Aaron!

"Mary Rice Hopkins & Puppets with A Heart" is a NEW Christian children's program which employs the use of live action, master puppetry, and song to create a weekly episodic program which equally entertains and teaches valuable life-choices to its young audience.

You can tune in Saturdays on TBN or view online.  This show deals with tough issues kids are facing today and will change children's hearts for a lifetime.  Program schedule on Saturdays:  8:30 a.m. (PST), 9:30 a.m. (MT), 10:30 a.m. (CT), and 11:30 a.m. (EST).

It looks like you're a regular Dollar Store shopper....FYI, the dollar store doesn't send broken, open, or returned toys or crafts back to corpo. In fact, what they do, is when they're cleaning up at the end of the day, they grab all the broken, open, or whatever toys and put them in a trash bag. That trash bag goes out back at whatever time it's full or taken out at the end of the day.

Now here's the thing, I don't dumpster dive...but it's good to know that there's a possibility of finding a bunch of unused toys somewhere.

Essentially, it costs more so send stuff back than to just toss it. So maybe if you can make nice with your local dollar store manager, they'll save you the trouble of rummaging through whatever else may be living in their dumpster.

Just and FYI.
