Pursuit of Impact or God

Posted on October 20, 2014 at 1:00pm 0 Comments

The ministry season is in high gear.  We are busting at the seams in all of our environments.     We are on-boarding a lot of new leaders.  Sure, we were having a few volunteer issues-a few holes to fill- but who doesn't?

I would like to say the impact is great.  I am having a huge impact.   That's what I am supposed to do, right?  It's all up to me to make an impact.

Several years ago, I came across…

Freedom And A Tat

A couple of months ago I turned the big 4-0.  Because of my awesome family, It was best birthday celebration I could ever hope for.  For the 10 days leading up to my birthday, I was spoiled by my awesome family and friends.  I even got real cards in the mail.  Amy arranged to have 40 gifts for me.  Some were as simple as 40 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups or socks.  Others were more elaborate.  All were awesome.…

Let's Go On A Journey

It has been well over a year since my last post.  To say things have changed would be a huge understatement.  They say the best place to tell a story is from the beginning.  However, I am not sure that's where I want to begin this story.  You see, often the story behind the story needs to be told.

Most blogs will be will be about what God is teaching me.  Some will be about my journey through recovery and forgiveness.  Other writings will be about what I…

I Blame (thank) Phil Vischer

This post is all about keeping it real with my kidmin people.

Everything was going well.  The new ministry season was in high gear.  I was not getting the email about the new check-in system as I expected.  The new elements to our K-5th grade large group environment were rocking, literally.  Sure, we were having a few staff issues but who doesn't early in the season.    Then, I came across this quote by Phil Vischer that completely rocked me.

He said, "The impact God has… Continue

Top 10 Observations and Lessons learned at Catalyst

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 3:33pm 0 Comments

Last week I attended Catalyst for the fourth time.   I have to say, it was the heaviest and most convicting.    I have so much to process.  Honestly, I think after the first 2 hours I was overwhelmed.

Here is what I am processing.  This is not an exhaustive list, just what has stuck.

Hey Bo,

Wanted to connect and say 'Hello'. I've been to Springfield (not sure what church) and surrounding areas for concerts and camps. Also, I was born in does that make me a Yankee??? I saw you used to be in Mobile, AL so I wonder if you've brought 'sweet tea' with you to the north:-) God Bless you, and nice to meet you.
