These are a few motivational reminders I have recently given my staff.

1. Know Your God! We must first truly know and understand the basic principles upon which God acts, before we can minister to His creation. (*Knowing God by J.I. Packer)

2. Read the Word! The best way to know someone is to spend time with them. I know this is remedial but often the laborious tasks of ministry get in the way. (*The Message by Eugene Peterson, The Book of God by Walter Wanger)

3. Find your… Continue

Chris - I hope you can take a few minutes and check out Big Bible Town.  If your kids like Club Penguin, then they will love Big Bible Town and so will you and your kids' parents.

Hi, Chris. Another department handles that, but as far as I know there are no plans for that.

Hey! The pulpit was originally our main sanctuaries pulpit. It was just plexiglass.

If you sand plexiglass it makes it look frosted. From there I built a plexiglass section of flooring into our stage and put an LED light under it. So light shines up through the pulpit whatever color we have the light below set to.

Let me know if you've got anymore questions about it. It was pretty easy to do! : )

Chris - Sorry for the delay in replying to your message. My father passed away in late September. By the time I was back home and catching up on life and his affairs, I had to return to Sacramento because my mom passed away. Needless to say, my desk and computer are looking a bit neglected.

Anyway, about your question...there is a disappointing lack of good missions education materials available for work with kids. Most are either very weak on missions or very weak on kids. There are a few good resources available through Frontiers' Caleb Resources, but even these need some tweaking (too many just plug and play their videos or use their curriculum without the needed adaptations). You can see these products by Googling "Caleb Resources" but KidZ At Heart can beat the prices on their website, so let me know if you are interested in anything there.

KidZ At Heart also offers a free DVD with 5 lessons on how KidZ KaN Make a the community...and around the world. It comes with a Spanish song led by Mary Rice Hopkins, a Dennis Lee performance ("My God Can"), and several other tools. We also supply free KidZ KaN Wrappers to go around Pringle's cans so that each child can save missions offerings in his/her own missions bank. (Do you have copies of these? We normally pass them out at CPC, etc. If you don't, let me know if you would like me to send you copies.)

We also have a fulltime staffer coming on in one week, Diane Buchanan, who will be overseeing our mobilization of kids. She will be gathering "in the trench" workers to share ideas with one another, write reviews of programs, offer tips, etc. Would you be willing/interested in helping out?

Hope you are doing well. Let me know how I may help, since your question is close to my heart.

We are out of parking and building. We have however purchased 140 acres that will be 190 frontage (long miracle story) and we will be completely relocating in the next few years.
