An Archaeological Find - In Our Apartment!

Posted on October 8, 2008 at 12:00pm 0 Comments

The other night, Sarah came shrieking out of the kitchen, "There are two enormous cockroaches crawling around in the kitchen!" I, superhusband, went to the rescue, slightly aggravated that my wife had gotten so worked up about these two innocent creatures. They were long gone by the time I got to the kitchen, but we looked into the corner near where she saw them. This was a corner between the cabinets and the wall in our kitchen - a small crevice we had never really investigated before. I got… Continue

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." - Deuteronomy 6:4-7, The Bible (NIV).

"Raising genuinely Christian children in a culture that chooses many idolatries to try to assuage or repress its restless hunger is NOT a lost cause IF the Church stands as an alternative community, incarnating - though imperfectly now - the kingdom of God for which everyone most deeply yearns." - Marva J. Dawn, Is It a Lost Cause? Having the Heart of God for the Church's Children.

Hi Jesse,
Found out that you were at Grace Bible Camp last week. We are hanging out on the front porch of the office/snack shack at Grace Bible Camp right now. We are the speakers this week here. This is our second year speaking here. We really like the camp and Mr. Bill. When I started juggling the clubs some of the counselors started yelling fishey! I found out later why.ha ha

Hey, just a sample of the comments I've been getting since you were here:Just wanted to say you picked some great entertainment this year-That guy was talented and funny-we really enjoyed it. I laughed so hard I was crying when he asked those men to start crab walking, and after a pause they attempted it-they were good sports-halarious-and when he threw that foam brick at the girl, Shane lost it. That was just wrong. Ha!

Hey Jesse!
I am currently the Children's Pastor at Owasso First Assembly. A few years ago I was the CP at Grace Covenant in Cornelius, NC, and you did an ending celebration of our VBS Arctic Edge. You might remember that I picked you up in a Hummer and that we got lost leaving the airport in Charlotte.
Next summer I am planning an event for Aug 3-6 for our kids. Are you interested in coming and being the guest speaker for the week?

Fo' sheezy. Me and my bro-in-law will be coming, so we just need one more. Do you want to book the room or me? I'm cool with whatever. Just let me know...

Hey, no problem... it was fun for me too. I might see if someone else wants to give it a whirl sometime. I saw you were going to be at CPC in Nashville. I'll be there too. I hope we get a chance to meet.
Take care and thanks for all you do.

Jesse, we loved seeing you last Sunday at Liberty Baptist in Sweetser. We met Ike driving south on our way to Houston, TX . It was slow driving, but we made it home on Tuesday safely. Power is still out in many parts of the city and many people have suffered loses, but the Houston community is coming together to assist each other. We hope to see you soon in our area. Thanks again, Felesa Baker
