Children Afraid of Puppets

I'm new here, and I wanted to ask a question. I have worked with the preschool (2/3-K) department as a puppeteer for 3 years now. And, during the last three years, we have had 2 children (a boy and a…Continue

Beattitudes preschool curriculum

We are currently trying to find a preschool curriculum for the beatitudes, we have looked at one then we looked at the sample lesson and decided it wasn't enough. It doesn't have to have puppet skits included. If it does, great! If it doesn't we will write them ourselves. The sooner we can find one we like the better. Thanks!See More

Hiding Your Puppet's "Helping Hand": The Way My Class Does It

In our preschool (2/3-K) class, which we call the Beginners Class, we have made a decision that when I started helping, I would not sit in the class, because the way it is set up we all do one thing each week. So, I only come in, do the puppet skit, and go out into the sanctuary, as a result, the kids never see me and never know I am there favorite puppet friends. Because, the way we do puppets is fairly different. I am not in a classroom while I have the puppet on my arm...I am on my knees in…See More

I'm new here, and I wanted to ask a question. I have worked with the preschool (2/3-K) department as a puppeteer for 3 years now. And, during the last three years, we have had 2 children (a boy and a girl, no relation)  who were afraid of puppets. Is this normal? What have you done with kids who where scared of puppets?See More

Other Things About Me:
By 1999, my church's puppet ministry almost died, as some of the puppeteers left. I was born in 1994, and had already taken an interest into the puppets by this time, so my aunt made me a few. Over the next few years I learned from my family members who were involved with the ministry. Now, for the past three years, I have done puppets for our preschool class (2/3-K) every Sunday morning.
