By 1999, my church's puppet ministry almost died, as some of the puppeteers left. I was born in 1994, and had already taken an interest into the puppets by this time, so my aunt made me a few. Over the next few years I learned from my family members who were involved with the ministry. Now, for the past three years, I have done puppets for our preschool class (2/3-K) every Sunday morning.

Hiding Your Puppet's "Helping Hand": The Way My Class Does It

In our preschool (2/3-K) class, which we call the Beginners Class, we have made a decision that when I started helping, I would not sit in the class, because the way it is set up we all do one thing each week. So, I only come in, do the puppet skit, and go out into the sanctuary, as a result, the kids never see me and never know I am there favorite puppet friends. Because, the way we do puppets is fairly different. I am not in a classroom while I have the puppet on my arm...I am on my knees…
