What Nail Polish Taught Me About Modesty

Posted on August 3, 2013 at 10:00am 0 Comments

My three year old daughter was playing happily in the living room with a box of old Barbie dolls I had recently discovered from my childhood.  The last time we had these Barbies out, I had taken special care to make sure they were all properly dressed, so imagine my shock when I walked into a room full of naked plastic dolls.  I casually sat down and began to redress everyone only to have my preschooler undress them all again.  Apparently these frilly dresses were getting in the way of…

Little Praise Party CD Review

Posted on April 21, 2012 at 6:47pm 0 Comments

I received Yancy’s new CD “Little Praise Party” a few weeks ago and have been so busy jamming to it that I forgot to write a review!  Which is a total shame because the CD is AMAZING!   I had listened to Yancy’s “Stars, Guitars, and Megaphone Dreams” when it came a year or so ago and wasn’t especially impressed.  The music itself was good, but I couldn’t see it being used in our Children’s…

Guest Follow Up Letter

Just Get ‘er Done!

Sometimes it’s remarkable how easy it is to just DO the things we’ve been putting off, and putting off, and putting off.  I have been procrastinating on this follow-up letter (to send guests after their first visit) for well…. maybe months, thinking “I don’t know where to start”.  However, today, I just sat down and started typing, and wouldn’t you know it — the letter was done in less than 10 minutes.

That is almost ridiculous.

Of course, it will…

Hi Lindsey,

Nice to "meet" you. Basically I work for the national office and handle anything kid ministry related. I keep up our online presence on facebook (search for our group and join! "CMA children's disciplemaking"), represent at conferences, and am available to serve however it's needed. Right now we're working on building our community of CMA kid's min peeps and getting the word out that kids are important to the CMA. I also do consulting at the local church level and district. I'm working on getting my consulting website up.

Other than that, I was a children's pastor for 6 years in Florida and Idaho and have a lot of experience running ministries, starting ministries, and flourishing ministries. What about you? I'd love to hear more!

Hi, Lindsey!

"Mary Rice Hopkins & Puppets with A Heart" is a NEW Christian children's program which employs the use of live action, master puppetry, and song to create a weekly episodic program which equally entertains and teaches valuable life-choices to its young audience.

You can tune in Saturdays on TBN or view online.  This show deals with tough issues kids are facing today and will change children's hearts for a lifetime.  Program schedule on Saturdays:  8:30 a.m. (PST), 9:30 a.m. (MT), 10:30 a.m. (CT), and 11:30 a.m. (EST).
