Volunteer Application Questions

Posted on March 16, 2009 at 12:22pm 5 Comments

What questions do you guys have on your volunteer applications? I need to revise our's which doesn't ask the right questions. I have seen some that are 10 pages long. I don't want to overwhelm people, but at the same time, I want to ask the right key questions. Also, do you have the same application for helpers as you do for teachers?

Easter ideas

Posted on March 1, 2009 at 4:48pm 2 Comments

Does anyone have any good ideas for a non-Children's Church day at church for Easter? Kind of an alternative for Children's Church that day? An Easter Children's Sermon/or something else creative for the kids to do? Any resources to point me to?

Hey Lisa I'm not sure about the legal stand point. Our graphics guys and video guys have about a dozen licenses so they would be the one to ask. We just used it for a one time shot and then we were done with it.

Good to hear from you again. Unfortunately, my web site is down for whatever reason and I'm having problems with it, so I am using my CMC page for my web site at the present to display the pictures of my projects. If you are interested, I would love to have you scroll down on my main page until you see the slide show and it will showcase about 100 pictures of different projects that I have worked on. Just click above on my name and it should take you to my page, then just scroll down, the slide show should start automatically. Thanks and I hope that you enjoy it.

Well hello Lisa! My name is Dennis and I just found out about CMC a few weeks back and had to join. I am looking to meet good people who work with kids. My business and Ministry is theming Children's Churches and providing props and banners of any size for the Ministry. If you are interested, I would like to invite you to drop by my site and view some pictures of my work. I would be honored to be used as a resource in the future. If I can help you with anything, please let me know. Blessings to you!

I hope that really works out for you guys. and the video well I have to give the credit to our amazing graphics and video department. They got the video and I did the british voice over and we just sync the two. take the video watch in on a laptop without volume then say what you want instead, in whatever accent and then merge the two and viola. You got yourself a talking whatever you want.

First game is called "Slow-Motion" Get a defined area like a large space in the room. Have all the kids spread out. It is just like the game TAG but a few twist and turns. The idea is the same tag everyone and avoid being tagged. After the kids are spread out explain to them that they can only move when you say the word step and with that is the idea of it being in slow-motion the kids can only take one step and come back to a stopping point before you say step again. once they move to their location after you've said step they try and tag everyone within reach without getting tagged themselves. Once they get tagged they sit right where they were and can now tag players as they try and sneak by we call those guys ankle bitters. We play until we have 2 winners left. it seems boring at first but once the kids get the hang of it and start to form alliances it turns out pretty good. Our leaders like to jump in and play too. let me know if I can help with anything else.
