Many of you know I have been involved in Children’s Ministry at my church for well over a decade. That chapter of my life has officially closed though. Yesterday I started a new position at Northbrook Church. I am the Pastor of Share. This encompasses a lot of things but in a nutshell I am responsible for the majority of all serving roles at the church. I oversee missions and outreach, first impressions, connections as well as being a part of the Senior Leadership Team. I still have many opportunities to speak into the life of Children’s Ministry at my church and in the Kidmin community. I have no plans to stop doing that.
I am in awe of how God works in these transitions. You see, my passion for kids and families hasn’t wavered one bit. I am still extremely passionate about the next generation and the family unit. I believe that they are two of the most important areas a church needs to focus on. There was a point in time that I truly felt that there wasn’t any room in my heart for anything other than Children’s and Family ministry. But then God intervened. He grew my heart and expanded it’s capacity. My burden for the lost and the seeking continued to grow beyond just kids and families. My passions for helping people, volunteers, pursue their calling has grown to such an immense level I simply couldn’t ignore it. So I can honestly say, God didn’t take my passion for kids and families away. He simply added more.
On this blog, I will definitely continue to speak to kids and family ministry. You will see it here regularly. But just like what God has done in my heart, I believe He is going to do with this blog. Stay tuned because I truly believe God has some great things in the future.
